Why We Built This Site
New Mexico gives the public broad access to many court records through statewide judiciary tools and the Inspection of Public Records Act. The hard part in Rio Arriba County is figuring out which office holds the file. District Court handles felony, divorce, protection-order, foreclosure, family, and higher civil matters. Magistrate and Municipal Courts handle many traffic, misdemeanor, DWI, and local ordinance matters. The Rio Arriba County Clerk handles recorded documents, marriage licenses, probate clerk support, elections, and Board records. The Sheriff and Detention Center hold law-enforcement and custody records that are separate from court case files.

Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
